GNCCI PRESIDENT MEETS DELEGATION FROM TURKEY
of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nana Dr. Appiagyei Dankawoso I, today received a business delegation from Turkey at the Chamber’s National Secretariat, World Trade Centre, Accra.
The delegation, made up of six persons from different sectors, was led by Mr. Turan Kocyigit, Chairman of the Ghana-Turkey Business Council. Other members of the delegation include, Mr. Ersel Topaloglu, Vice Chairman, Ghana-Turkey Business Council, Mr. Ovic Mbi Mabiala, Sales Manager, VEKON, Mr. Sinam Mirasyedi, Director, International Relations, CAMPAK Group, Mr. Bugra Karamis, Commercial Counsellor, Turkish Embassy, Accra and Mr. Durmus Findikci, General Manager, Turk Gida General Trading LLC.
The delegation is in the country to explore business opportunities and also improve trade and investment relations between Ghana and Turkey.
Speaking at the meeting, the leader of the delegation, Mr. Turan Kocyigit indicated that Turkey has identified Ghana, Egypt and Tanzania as countries they want to promote Turkish products in Africa.
The President of the Chamber, Nana Dr. Appiagyei Dankawoso I, in his response, welcomed the delegation and indicated that, Ghana and Turkey have a long standing business relationship and there is always the opportunity to deepen such relationship. He mentioned that there are lots of Turkish companies in the country and cited the Kotoka Airport Expansion Project, which is being undertaken by Turkish company.
The President also said there has also been a discussion between the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its counterpart in Turkey on the creation of industrial park in Ghana.
The Turkish delegation are expected to visit Ghana again in September, 2018 on a trade and investment mission, with business executives from different sectors of the Turkish economy.
