On Tuesday, 25th March 2025, the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) had the distinct honor of hosting His Excellency Peter Ryan, Ambassador of Ireland, at its Head Office in Accra. The Ambassador was received by GNCCI President Mr. Stephane Miezan, who led the meeting with a clear focus on strengthening trade and investment ties between Ghana and Ireland.
During the meeting, Ambassador Ryan highlighted Ireland’s keen interest in bolstering commercial cooperation with Ghana. He outlined Ireland’s commitment to facilitating technology transfer, fostering educational partnerships, and enhancing aviation connectivity as key areas that can drive mutually beneficial growth. His remarks underscored Ireland’s strategic vision to expand its global business network while supporting emerging markets like Ghana.
The President, Mr. Stephane Miezan emphasised the immense potential of Ghana’s dynamic private sector and the critical role of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in driving economic growth. He stressed that deeper bilateral trade relations would not only open new market opportunities for Ghanaian businesses but also pave the way for innovative collaborations in various sectors. Mr. Miezan reiterated the importance of establishing direct engagement platforms, such as trade missions and networking events, to connect Ghanaian and Irish businesses and facilitate the exchange of expertise and resources.
Both parties expressed a shared commitment to developing a concrete roadmap for enhanced cooperation. The meeting catalyzed further discussions on creating a more streamlined and supportive environment for trade and investment.
