The Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI), led by its First Vice-President, Emelia Assiakwa, has paid a courtesy call on the Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, His Excellency Shri Manish Gupta, to deepen bilateral economic engagement.
Discussions focused on key sectors including agribusiness, tourism, innovation, and trade facilitation. The Chamber highlighted flagship Ghana Government initiatives such as the Feed Ghana programme and the Black Star Experience as viable opportunities for Indian investment and collaboration.
GNCCI also raised critical issues affecting the private sector, including limited access to capital, gaps in technical expertise, and trade facilitation bottlenecks—particularly currency and payment system constraints.. The Chamber called for Indian support in the areas of financing, export development, and technical assistance.
High Commissioner Shri Manish Gupta welcomed the proposals and reaffirmed India’s longstanding partnership with Ghana, noting the strategic potential for expanded collaboration, particularly in agriculture and technology-led development.
