Absa Bank Ghana signed a partnership agreement with GNCCI
Absa Bank Ghana have signed a partnership agreement with Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry to provide flexible loan schemes for member-firms of the association, with a special package for youths and women-led businesses.
In a brief meeting with a special delegation from Absa Bank Limited, the President of the Chamber, Mr. Clement Osei-Amoako, expressed appreciation for the bank's efforts and assured the delegation of the Chamber's commitment to providing financial business solutions to its members and the entire Ghanaian business community.
Dr. Mrs. Emelia Assiakwa, National Treasurer of the GNCCI, was particularly enthusiastic about the available women's support facilities and emphasized the importance of setting priorities in this area. She indicated that, the support from Absa Bank is very timely for traders, especially when businesses have taken a hit due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She commended Absa Bank Ghana for making available the loan scheme facility through the partnership.
The bank will provide flexible loans to traders and a special loan package for youths and women-led businesses under GNCCI.
Key opportunities include the Absa MasterCard Foundation, DBG loan facility and Agriculture and the Young Africa Works (YAW), a five-year strategic partnership between Absa Bank Ghana and the Mastercard Foundation (MCF) with the goal of creating dignified and fulfilling jobs for young men and women in Ghana.
The bank’s partnership with GNCCI will enable members of the Chamber to access funding, receive capacity-building and training from Absa Bank under the Young Africa Works programme. These will help individual MSMEs to identify the gaps in their business operations and proffer tailored training and solutions in addressing them.
