GNCC Tarkwa Regional Branch Hosts Successful Annual Dinner
The Tarkwa Branch of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) recently held its 2022 annual dinner event to reflect on the past year's activities and express gratitude to its members.
The event was attended by the President of GNCCI, Mr Clement Osei Amoako, who praised the leadership of the Tarkwa branch for its efforts in increasing membership and initiating programs to benefit the members. He also emphasized the Chamber's commitment to supporting the development of the area and called for collaboration with the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal to promote economic and agricultural growth.
The annual dinner event provided an opportunity for members to socialize, network, and enjoy entertainment. The CEO of GNCCI, Mr Mark Berdu Aboagye, spoke about the challenges faced by the Chamber's members in 2022, such as high inflation, rising production costs, depreciation of the cedi, and increased interest rates. Despite these challenges, the Chamber supported its members through capacity-building programs to sustain their businesses.
Mr Aboagye expressed optimism for 2023, highlighting the potential impact of a possible bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on the business environment. However, he advised members to focus on maintaining their businesses rather than making major expansions, due to the uncertainty of the current economic climate. The MCE, Mr Benjamin Kessie, praised the Tarkwa Chamber for its achievements and contribution to the Ghanaian economy.
