4th Chamber Business Awards

The Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) held its highly anticipated 4th Chamber Business Awards on September 27, 2024, at the Accra International Conference Centre. Under the theme “Adaptability and Innovation in a Green Economy through Collaboration,” the event attracted leading figures from various industries, recognising the outstanding contributions of businesses and individuals towards economic growth in Ghana.

In his opening speech, the President of the GNCCI, Dr. Clement Osei-Amoako, emphasised the significance of collaboration in driving green innovation, especially in adapting to the evolving global economy. He highlighted the critical role the business community must play in alignment with sustainable practices to foster resilience and long-term success. The president’s message resonated with the audience, emphasising that adaptability in business models was key to thriving in a changing economic landscape.

The Special Guest of Honour, Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, delivered an impactful speech, focusing on the need for entrepreneurial initiatives to align with green innovations. He underscored the critical link between business growth and environmental stewardship, urging companies to adopt sustainable strategies to combat climate change. His speech served as a reminder of the importance of maintaining a balance between development and environmental preservation, encouraging all sectors, including manufacturing, agribusiness, and logistics, to prioritise sustainability.

Several companies and personalities were celebrated across various sectors, showcasing business operations and innovation excellence. Key award categories included agribusiness, banking, manufacturing, and media, among others.

Notable winners included:

– Business Man of the Year: Mr. Michael Bozumbill, CEO of PETROSOL Ghana.

– Business Woman of the Year: Nana Krobea Asante.

– Young Entrepreneurs of the Year: Robert Kwabena Ayitay.

In the Agribusiness sector, BH Fertagro Ghana Limited won in the input supply category, while Siriboe Farms Limited took home the award for agribusiness Farming. Olam Ghana Limited was recognised for its outstanding performance in agribusiness processing. The Banking sector also saw recognition, with Access Bank Ghana Limited winning the award for Retail Banking, and GCB Bank PLC taking home the award for Wholesale & Investment Banking.

The Manufacturing sector was well represented, with Wilmar Africa Limited winning in Food Production and B5 Plus Limited dominating in Steel Production. These companies were praised for their commitment to innovation and sustainability in their respective fields.

The Media Industry was also acknowledged for its role in driving business visibility and growth. Angel Broadcasting Network, Multimedia Group, and Despite Group were recognised as key media partners supporting businesses through their platforms.
