Official Launch of the GNCCI Business Awards 2024

The Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) proudly announces the launch of the 4th Edition of the GNCCI Business Awards, set to celebrate the outstanding contributions and achievements of businesses and entrepreneurs across Ghana. Under the theme “Adaptability and Innovation in a Green Economy through Collaboration,” this prestigious event is scheduled for Friday, September 27, 2024, at the Accra International Conference Centre, with His Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, Ga Mantse, as the Special Guest of Honour.

Launch Event Highlights

The official launch on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, marked the beginning of this year’s awards journey. Speaking at the launch, Dr. Clement Osei Amoako, President of GNCCI, expressed his excitement and pride in Ghanaian businesses’ resilience and innovative spirit. He emphasised the importance of adaptability, innovation, and collaboration in navigating the challenges and opportunities of a green economy.

Mr. Prince Ackuaku, Chairman of the 4th Chamber Business Awards, also addressed the attendees, highlighting the critical role of sustainable development and the need for businesses to pivot, innovate, and collaborate to ensure a prosperous future for Ghana.

Awards Categories and Selection Process

The GNCCI Business Awards will recognise excellence in various sectors, including Agribusiness, Automobile dealerships, Banks, Civil Engineering, Fashion, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Professional Services, Telecommunications, and many more. Additionally, special awards will be given to the Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Chamber Business Man of the Year, and Chamber Business Woman of the Year.

Eligibility and Nomination

The awards are open to all registered businesses in Ghana operating within the specified categories. The nomination process began on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, and will close at 5 PM on Friday, August 30, 2024. Businesses can nominate themselves or be referred by another entity, and there is no limit to the number of categories in which a business can be nominated.

The selection process involves a thorough review by a Technical Committee comprising experts from various government and private sector institutions, including, but not limited to, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ghana Revenue Authority, Food and Drugs Authority, Institute of Chartered AccountantsGhana, Environmental Protection Agency, National Labour Commission, Ghana Exports Promotion Authority, Private Enterprise Federation, Ghana Investment Promotion Council, Chartered Institute of Marketing– Ghana, Energy Commission, and Doulos Consult. The goal is to review all completed forms, ensuring a fair and comprehensive evaluation of all nominees.
