BUSINESS TOUR TO TOYOTA GHANA LTD & JAPAN MOTORS GHANA LTD

 

The Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) organized

a business tour to Toyota Ghana Limited and Japan Motors Ghana Limited on 20th of February, 2019. The delegation was led by the President of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nana Dr. Appiagyei Dankawoso I.

The objectives of the tour was to familiarize with the activities undertaken by these organizations, and be abreast with the challenges in the automobile industry.

The President of the Chamber in his remarks applauds their efforts towards contributing to the economic and industrial growth of the country, particularly helping to alleviate poverty and unearthing potentials through educational support services, creation of jobs and wealth for the people of Ghana. The Chamber also encourages the business community that in their quest to stay competitive, there is the need to adopt modern operations and management strategies such as: Technology and Innovation, good corporate governance practices, good customer care and modern training techniques.

Takuya Kajiura, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Toyota stated that, the company has been Incorporated in Ghana since 1998 and had expanded from an initial two branch company to four with sales and after sales facilities in Accra, Kumasi, Tema and Tarkwa. He said as part of Toyota Ghana Company Limited vision to expand, they will be moving to an ultramodern office located along the “Tema Motor way” by the second half of the year. However he appealed to government in the interest of the nation to control second hand vehicles like the way other African countries such as Cote D, Ivoire have done.
