GHANA-INDONESIA BUSINESS FORUM

The Ghana National Chamber

of Commerce and Industry-GNCCI organised the Ghana-Indonesia Business forum which was held on 16th May, 2018, at IBIS Hotel. Airport In attendance was the President of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, GNCCI, Nana Dr. Appiagyei Dankawoso I, The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GNCCI, Mr.  Mark Badu -Aboagye, the Second secretary, Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, Abuja-Nigeria, Director of Indonesian Embassy, Head of the Indonesian Delegation, Vice President of Jakarta Chamber of Commerce, Representatives from Indonesia and members of GNCCI.

In his presentation at the forum, Second secretary, Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Dwiyatna, spoke extensively about the Business opportunities in Indonesia and the Indonesia Business Trade exhibition to be held in Indonesia. The Indonesian Delegation also invited Ghanaian Business men and women to participate in the upcoming Indonesia Trade Exhibition to be held in October, 2018. 

In his opening remarks, The President of the Chamber said he was excited about the visit of the Indonesian Delegation and asked Ghanaian business men and women gathered to take advantage of the business opportunities. He also tasked the Indonesian Delegation to set up an Embassy in Ghana for easy access to their country for business opportunities. He furthermore commended the organisers for their effort in organising such a prestigious business forum. Additionally, Nana Dr. Appiagyei Dankawoso I, was also grateful for the bilateral relationship between the two countries.

The Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Jakarta Chamber of Commerce signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two countries.

The Indonesia delegation also thanked the Chamber for the opportunity given to them. There was a presentation on the Indonesian Trade Promotion, products from PT Kapal Api Global and Mariza Sarimurmi 

Also in attendance at the forum were representatives from the Food and Drugs Authority and Ministry of Trade and Industry. On behalf of the Minister for Trade and Industry, the speaker tasked not only the Indonesian delegation but also the business men and women gathered to take advantage of His Excellency, the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s Policy on the Industrialisation Transformation Agenda of Ghana.  Speaking also at the forum, a representative from Food and Drugs Authourity, Mr. Kofi Essel, advised the Indonesian Delegation to adhere to rules and regulations of the Food and Drugs authority pertaining to issues on Imports of products.

After various presentations, the Ghanaian business men and women held Business-to-Business networking sessions with the Indonesian delegation which was very successful.

Over Seventy participants represented their businesses at the forum.
