Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry signs a trade agreement with the Brazilian Embassy and the Sao Paulo Chamber of Commerce.

Brazilian Government Officials have held a high-level meeting with the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) in Accra.

The high-level meeting which was jointly led by Mrs. Victoria M. E. Hajar, the 1st Vice- President of the Chamber and Madam Maria Elisa T. De Luna, the Brazilian Ambassador to Ghana focused on trade and investment relations.

This follows a three-day business-to-business event aimed at boosting trade connections between the two countries by forging new corporate partnerships and strengthening existing ones.

As the world attempts to rebuild following the COVID-19 pandemic, the GNCCI aims to consistently identify new markets for Ghanaian businesses and presents a fresh and unique opportunity.

Trade and investment are vital for national economic growth and development, and the Chamber supports any initiative in this area.

Ghana’s export to Brazil is expected to reach US$ 64.6 million in 2020, according to the International Trade Centre.

Brazil’s exports to Ghana totaled US$ 198.4 million during the same time period.

Despite the fact that Brazil has a positive trade balance, most of the economic potential that both countries can offer for mutual economic advantage has remained untapped.

The Chamber and the Brazilian Embassy together with the Sao Paulo Chamber of Commerce have signed two Memorandums of Understanding to promote commercial, technical, and economic cooperation between Ghana and Brazil for mutual benefit.

As the representative voice of the private sector in Ghana, the Chamber stands in support of any agenda that promotes trade while building the capacities of Ghanaian industry to compete on the international level.
